Susan Baker was born in San Diego, CA, and due to being a military dependent for most of her life, Susan has lived all over this great country as well as three other countries. The many challenges from moving so often has created a love of meeting people. Susan’s parents retired just outside of Tacoma, WA, whom she visits once a year.  Susan has called Summerville, South Carolina home for the past 30 years.

Susan spent many years attached to a desk in various office environments, but she desired a job that offered a change as well as a challenge. Susan wanted to venture out and assist people in the community with their financial future. More flexibility in her professional work schedule is desired in order to meet her family needs. For example, being available to care for grandchildren when taken ill as well as being available to transport grandchildren to and from school periodically as needed. Employment with Cornerstone affords her the joy of meeting new people, helping solve their insurance needs, as well as having the flexibility needed to care for her family.

Susan’s two children are grown, married and have presented her with 4 beautiful grandchildren. Matthew, has graduated from high school and is challenging his independence. Draven, is in advanced classes in middle school, on the honor roll as well as taking robotics and advanced math as extracurricular activities. Susan’s youngest grandson, Hunter, was born at MUSC with only half of his heart working. Hunter has gone through 3 open heart surgeries as well as a back surgery before he was 5 years old. Thanks to the staff at MUSC and the good Lord, Hunter is now 8 years old and doing wonderfully. Because of what he has endured, and his "can do" attitude, Hunter was named Ambassador for the 2015-2016 year at MUSC and the Children’s Miracle Network’s Champion for the State of South Carolina for 2015-2016. Emma is in kindergarten and is learning jazz, ballet and hip hop.

Due to all the moving in her youth, traveling is Susan’s passion. Cruising is her favorite mode of travel. She is a long-time member of the International Red Hat Society Association. In her spare time she enjoys playing Bunco, reading, movies, dinner with friends, crocheting, and needlepoint. Most precious of all, is time spent with her amazing grandchildren.
